PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harrison Cambroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cambroy's choice of entrance music: finding the surface. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Harrison Cambroy enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Harrison Cambroy!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scott wants it to stay on the feet.
Scott throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Scott connects with a leg kick. Cambroy looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Cambroy throws a head kick that misses

and Scott counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scott.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Scott won't allow Cambroy to sweep him here.
Scott has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Scott stands up over Cambroy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Scott throws a strike but Cambroy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cambroy slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Harrison Cambroy.
Cambroy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A nice leg kick lands there from Scott.
Cambroy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Scott can pounce on him.
Scott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cambroy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Scott lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Cambroy keeps the fight on the outside.
Cambroy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Scott lands a head kick. Cambroy smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Cambroy shoots in for a double leg but Scott sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gary Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harrison Cambroy.
Scott moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Scott lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Cambroy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Scott pinned against the cage. Scott gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Scott connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Scott.
An inside leg kick lands from Scott.
No luck for Scott with that takedown attempt.
Cambroy shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cambroy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Scott is trying to maintain a safe position but Cambroy gets an underhook and turns Scott into the cage.

Scott is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cambroy can't fight it off and eventually Scott manages to take the fight to the floor. Cambroy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Scott wants to control from the top but Cambroy keeps moving.
Cambroy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Scott is looking to work some ground and pound but Cambroy has wrist control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Harrison Cambroy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Scott scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gary Scott dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Scott throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Cambroy has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Scott.
Nice uppercut lands for Cambroy. That snapped Scott's head back.
Cambroy misses with a few strikes there.
Gary Scott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scott fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cambroy.
A solid leg kick lands there for Scott.
Cambroy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Scott shoots in for a double leg but Cambroy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Scott throws a head kick that misses.
Scott connects with an inside leg kick.
Scott thumps Cambroy with a low kick.

Scott is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cambroy's half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cambroy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scott manages to get himself to full guard.

Scott is working an open guard so Cambroy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Cambroy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Scott lands a nice short elbow.
Scott seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cambroy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cambroy can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Scott moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Cambroy on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Scott. Scott obviously looking to wear him down.
A nice inside leg kick there by Scott. That's going to slow Cambroy down.
Scott moves in looking to clinch but Cambroy pushes him off.
Cambroy throws a series of punches but Scott avoids them all with ease.
Cambroy keeps the fight on the outside.
Cambroy shoots for a takedown but Scott saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Scott looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Scott moves into range and clinches up with Cambroy.
Scott using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Scott wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cambroy blocks an elbow strike.
Cambroy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Cambroy pulls Scott into guard.
Cambroy wants to sweep here but Scott controlling him for the moment.
Scott wants to control from the top but Cambroy keeps moving.

Scott got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cambroy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Scott has managed to get both his arms back between Cambroy's legs - danger averted.

Scott lands with a punch from half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scott is looking to take a break and control but Cambroy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Scott drives through and clinches with Cambroy against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Scott - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Scott tries a knee to the head but Cambroy blocks it.

Cambroy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Scott thuds his shin into the meat of Cambroy's side.
Cambroy shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense.
Harrison Cambroy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Scott gets caught napping as Cambroy dives in and scores a takedown. Scott manages to retain guard.

Cambroy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Scott lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Gary Scott is winning the standup battle so far.
Cambroy takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Scott closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cambroy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cambroy.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cambroy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Scott defends well.
Cambroy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Scott trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Cambroy manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Scott is looking to stand up but Cambroy isn't so interested in that idea.

Cambroy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Scott knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Cambroy thows a huge punch but Scott dodges it nicely.

Gary Scott is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ground and pound from Cambroy seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Harrison Cambroy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Scott has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
