Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mirko Crocop!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crocop misses with a kick to the body.
Jab, jab by Crocop - just one landing.

Stevens rushes Crocop and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Crocop breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Crocop misses with a head kick.
Crocop displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Frank Stevens has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Crocop misses with a double jab.
Stevens misses with a body kick.
Crocop pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown but Crocop shows good takedown defense.

Crocop throws a one two combo.
Crocop throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Crocop scores with a nice strike.

Crocop moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Crocop as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Stevens. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Crocop throws a big shot that misses.
Crocop fails to land with a series of punches.
Mirko Crocop is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Stevens fails in his attempt to clinch.
Crocop looks to land a combination but Stevens avoids it well.

Stevens throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Crocop tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Stevens is in Crocop's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Stevens wants to control from the top but Crocop keeps moving.
Stevens wants to pass the guard but Crocop is keeping the position.
Stevens sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Crocop's guard.
Crocop pushes Stevens off looking to stand but Stevens dives back in and keeps control.

Stevens wants to work for an arm triangle but Crocop is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crocop is trying to stand up here but Stevens is controlling him well.
Crocop is not content to let Stevens control the position.
Crocop wants to control but Stevens is keeping busy.
Crocop told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Stevens is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Stevens is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Crocop doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stevens.
Stevens moves into full mount! Crocop won't be happy about that!
Crocop really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stevens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Crocop can't escape the position.

Stevens wants to finish this one by submission but Crocop is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Stevens.

Stevens working for a submission but Crocop is keeping him at bay.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevens throws some wild stikes that Crocop manages to avoid easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Crocop regains half guard.

Stevens is working for a kimura but Crocop is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mirko Crocop will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Frank Stevens's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Crocop tries a head kick but it misses.
Frank Stevens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Stevens counters with a shoot takedown. Crocop fights it but they end up in guard.
Crocop is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Stevens trying to control the position from guard on top but Crocop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Crocop tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Crocop can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Stevens controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevens works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Stevens looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Stevens trying to mount his opponent but Crocop defends it.
Stevens wants to take a breather but Crocop is having none of it.
Stevens is nestled in close to Crocop, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Stevens throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Crocop to regain full guard.

Stevens thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Stevens in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Crocop trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Crocop is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stevens is aware though and is defending well.
Stevens trying to control but Crocop is working from the bottom.

Stevens passes Crocop's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Stevens seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Stevens is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Crocop has managed to free his arm - good work.

Stevens seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Crocop is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
