Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Umberto Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duran has chosen Hatebreed - Live for this as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Umberto Duran! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir throws an overhand right that lands on Duran's shoulder, as Duran tries to avoid the shot. Frank Mir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mir closes the distance and clinches. Duran has a couple of punches blocked by Mir.
Mir tries to pull guard but Duran forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Duran breaks from the clinch.
Duran swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mir throws a series of punches but Duran avoids them all with ease. Mir tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Duran to counter with a crisp jab. Duran steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mir. Mir waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Duran. Duran scores with a decent looking hook. Duran avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Duran keeps the fight on the outside. Duran misses with a double jab.
Mir takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mir looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mir tries to grapple but his opponent circles letting Duran counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duran misses with a two punch combination.
Duran thuds his right hand into Mir's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Duran throws a combination that misses and Mir counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mir. Duran takes a shot to the head. Mir lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Duran has had enough of the clinch but Mir keeps him there for the moment. Duran breaks from the clinch.
Duran looks to land a combination but Mir avoids it well. Mir fails to land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir cracks Duran with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mir showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Duran.
Mir tries to clinch there but Duran circles away.
Mir pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Mir throws the left hand but Duran avoids the punch easily. Umberto Duran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mir shoots in for a double leg but Duran sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Duran swings away with a leg kick that misses. Mir dives in for a single leg takedown but Duran sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Duran blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mir breaks the clinch.
Mir moves to clinch but Duran breaks away and Duran counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mir is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Duran's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Mir misses with a series of wild punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duran misses with an uppercut. Duran just misses with a punch to the body.

Duran has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Duran tries to bum rush Mir with a series of wild strikes but Mir uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The fighters circling - Mir throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Duran lands with a good body shot. Mir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mir is looking to clinch. Horrible takedown by Mir or perhaps it was just good defense by Duran which made him look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir blocks a low kick nicely. Mir moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Duran throws out a powerful jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mir will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Mir closes the distance and pushes Duran back into the cage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Duran. Duran breaks from the clinch.
Duran fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mir looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Duran works the jab nicely. Duran throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mir swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Duran takes a swing at Mir's ribcage but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Umberto Duran dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Duran scores with the left hand. Mir knows he should have avoided that one. The fighters circle momentarily. Duran darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Duran stuffs the takedown attempt from Mir. Mir gets slowly back to his feet. Mir's corner calls for a 1-2. Mir obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Duran swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Frank Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mir tries to clinch there but Duran circles away.
Duran looks to land a left hand but Mir moved out of range nicely. Duran keeps the fight on the outside. Duran avoids a punch combination nicely.
Duran lands with a straight right. Mir didn't see that one coming. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mir slips a jab from Duran.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir tries to clinch up. Mir darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Mir gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Duran. The fight stays on the outside here - Mir looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mir closes the distance but Duran moves to the side and Duran counters with a nice body shot. Mir moves to clinch but Duran breaks away and Duran counters with a crisp right that sends Mir to the canvas! Duran follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
