Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Riordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiteri is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: AC/DC -TNT. Tommy Riordan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Riordan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Spiteri! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spiteri works Riordan's body with a nice hook. Spiteri lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Spiteri. Spiteri misses with a series of wild punches.
Riordan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Spiteri throws a series of punches but Riordan avoids them all with ease. A jab from Spiteri does it's job there. Spiteri misses with an uppercut. Riordan saw that one coming. Riordan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nice uppercut there from Spiteri. Riordan dives in and scores a takedown into Spiteri's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Riordan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiteri keeping moving, preventing Riordan from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spiteri is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Riordan dives into side control.
Riordan in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Riordan is looking to take a break and control but Spiteri is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Riordan is trying to get an arm triangle but Spiteri is defending well. Riordan is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Spiteri has escaped the position, nice work there.

Riordan trying to control the position from guard on top but Spiteri is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Riordan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Riordan throws a big elbow that misses. Riordan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spiteri is keeping the position for now. Spiteri wants to sweep but no luck. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Riordan trying to control but Spiteri is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Spiteri uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Spiteri dominated that round. That's time! Riordan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Spiteri comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Riordan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Decent striking displayed by Spiteri there. Riordan staying out of range there. Spiteri lands a nice shot to the body.
Spiteri lands with a straight right. Riordan didn't see that one coming. Nice takedown defense from Spiteri. No joy for Riordan on that attempt. Spiteri jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Spiteri misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Riordan.
Danga de danga de dang - Spiteri scores with a four punch combination! Spiteri bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Riordan's head backwards.
Riordan is rocked! Riordan takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Oh Riordan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Dave Spiteri is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiteri waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Riordan. Riordan seems to have got his legs back now. Spiteri throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Spiteri punishes Riordan's body with a nice straight punch. Spiteri throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riordan sees it coming and avoids it easily. Riordan shoots in for a takedown but Spiteri shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Spiteri leaves Riordan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Riordan. That's going to take a lot out of him. A combination from Spiteri does no damage. Spiteri throws a series of punches but Riordan moves out of range. Riordan fails with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spiteri displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Riordan. Spiteri thuds a left hand into Riordan's body. Riordan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spiteri sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Riordan somewhat. Spiteri throws a good cross that connects.
Riordan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spiteri is fending him off so far but Riordan persists. Nope, Spiteri circles away and we're back to standing. Riordan has a takedown stuffed. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Riordan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Spiteri connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Riordan scrambles back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riordan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Riordan walks into a left hand. Spiteri scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Spiteri lands with an uppercut that bounces Riordan off the cage and back into range. Spiteri pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Spiteri scores with a decent looking hook. Spiteri connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Good shot there by Spiteri. Spiteri has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Riordan is landing a low percentage of strikes. Riordan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Spiteri is not content to let Riordan control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Riordan controls the position from side control. Spiteri pushes Riordan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Riordan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Riordan tries to move into full mount but can't pass Spiteri's legs. Spiteri is not content to let Riordan control the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! The strikes coming from Riordan are missing the target in this wave of attacks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Spiteri showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Riordan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Spiteri swats him away and circles back towards the center. A shot to the liver by Spiteri. Beautiful body shot. Spiteri comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Riordan moves in looking to clinch but Spiteri pushes him off. Spiteri misses with a looping left. Riordan fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Spiteri feints a jab promting Riordan to slip. Spiteri then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Riordan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Spiteri misses with a jab, cross combination.
Riordan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spiteri looks to land a right hand but Riordan moved out of range. Spiteri connects with a crisp jab. Spiteri lands a left and a right that send Riordan crashing to the mat, dazed. Spiteri thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Riordan looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. This has been an exciting period of action! Spiteri lands a lovely overhand right. Spiteri cracks a nice hook into Riordan's ribs. Spiteri changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Spiteri lands with a cross. BOOM! Spiteri lands a beautiful left hook that drops Riordan. Riordan tries to recover but Spiteri is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Riordan lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
