Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Badr Aerts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kelsey Vermont! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vermont throws an off balance right hand
and Aerts counters by clinching up. Vermont told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Aerts lands an elbow inside. Aerts lands an elbow inside that Vermont shrugs off. Aerts landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
This has been an exciting period of action! Vermont has Aerts pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Aerts manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vermont looks winded! Aerts tries for a takedown but Vermont manages to get underhooks.
Vermont takes an elbow to the temple. Vermont blocks the elbow strike.
Aerts is defending well against a takedown attempt. Vermont with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Vermont tries to score a body lock takedown but Aerts shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Badr Aerts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kelsey Vermont. Vermont changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Aerts fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Aerts counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Aerts. Aerts jumps guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vermont trying to control from half guard but Aerts is working away. We've been hearing good reports from Aerts's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Vermont is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Aerts is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
