PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dr Zoidberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Squash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zoidberg lands with a kick to the temple. Squash shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Zoidberg drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Squash holds on and takes a little breather.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Zoidberg here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Squash manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zoidberg manages to get himself to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Squash is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Squash is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Zoidberg defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Squash has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Zoidberg has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
