Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wally Lara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon misses with a double jab
and Lara finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Lara tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gordon swivels and escapes.
Lara blocks a jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gordon. Lara does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lara tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gordon defends well and Lara ends up having to push Gordon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lara tries to circle away but Gordon has him pinned against the cage.
Lara breaks the clinch.
Lara could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lara gets caught napping as Gordon dives in and scores a takedown. Lara manages to retain guard.
Gordon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gordon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lara swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lara isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gordon stacks Lara on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gordon!

Gordon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gordon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lara is just riding it out for now. Gordon eventually gives up the hold.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Gordon was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lara is defended easily by Gordon.

Gordon connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lara momentarily.
Gordon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gordon lands in his opponent's guard.

Lara might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Lara got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gordon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lara has managed to get both his arms back between Gordon's legs - danger averted.

Well Lara has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
