Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Guss Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Warren Peace!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peace gets a takedown into half guard.

Peace is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Steel sees it coming and defends easily.

Peace is looking to take a break and control but Steel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Steel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Peace.

Peace drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Peace jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Peace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Peace slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Steel on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Steel tries to get out of the position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Warren Peace hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Peace shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peace accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Warren Peace hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Steel gets caught napping as Peace dives in and scores a takedown. Steel manages to retain guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Peace wants to control from the top but Steel keeps moving.
Peace has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Peace has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Warren Peace really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Cage Star logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
