Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Sonnen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Anders!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen staying out of range there.
Anders misses with a double jab.
Sonnen throws a right and a left that Anders avoids nicely.
Sonnen moves forwards but Anders connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Anders takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Anders avoids a punch combination nicely.
Anders slips a jab and a cross from Sonnen.
Anders throws a predictable looking body shot
and Sonnen counters with a one-two to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sonnen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Anders has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Anders and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sonnen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sonnen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sonnen misses with a two punch combination.
Sonnen throws a body punch but Anders moves out of range.
Sonnen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Anders.
Sonnen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sloppy strikes from Anders. Those never looked like landing.
Anders throws a nice looking combination but Sonnen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sonnen jabbing away but nothing is landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sonnen misses with a two punch combination.
Anders lands an overhand right.
Anders is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sonnen.
Anders thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sonnen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anders.
Sonnen swinging wildly here.
Sonnen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Anders tests Sonnen's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Anders. Sonnen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Anders lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sonnen at a distance.
Anders avoids a punch combination nicely.
A nice combination there by Anders.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Anders moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sonnen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Anders throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


Sonnen is rocked!
Anders throws a good cross that connects.
Oh Sonnen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Anders swinging wildly here.
Sonnen slips under a jab.
Anders lands the left hand.
Anders takes a swing at Sonnen's ribcage but misses.
Anders scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sonnen doesn't seem bothered though.
Anders misses with a double jab.
Sonnen seems to have got his legs back now.
Sonnen lands with a right that hurts Anders. Anders looks to clinch but Sonnen throws a short knee that drops Anders. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Steve Sonnen!
The defeated Eric Anders had this to say: 'I'm sorry to my fans that I disappointed today I'm going to train on my hands and come back more lethal than ever before'.
