The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gentry shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Savvidis is trying to defend but Gentry finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Savvidis is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savvidis wants to control but Gentry is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gentry prevents Savvidis from improving his position.

Gentry wants to work for an arm triangle but Savvidis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gentry is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Gentry is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Savvidis is just riding it out for now. Gentry eventually gives up the hold.
