Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonia Duran! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo The Monster! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duran dodges the punch combination from The Monster.
The Monster misses with a straight left. The Monster misses with a combination
and Duran counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Duran. A nice left hand lands by The Monster.
It looks like Antonia Duran has been cut. Duran turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Duran manages to end up in side control. The Monster is looking for a sweep. Duran creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The Monster is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Duran decides to take the fight back to the feet. The Monster throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Duran counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for The Monster! Duran will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Duran taking a breather here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Monster sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Monster wants to get back to full guard. Duran decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Gustavo The Monster is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Duran wants to clinch. The Monster swings widly with a right hand
and Duran counters with a nice double leg into guard. Duran preventing the sweep. Duran trying to control the position from guard on top but The Monster is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Duran gets to his feet. The Monster looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duran closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Monster connects with a knee to the head.
The Monster lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Duran is rocked! The Monster lands with a left to the head. Oh Duran is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The Monster escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The Monster closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Duran out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
