Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dorian Sweeney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robert Confortola! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Confortola misses the shot to the body. Confortola lands a nice shot that snaps Sweeney's head back.
Confortola throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sweeney was covering up waiting for the punch and Confortola finishes the takedown easily into guard. Confortola has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sweeney is proving hard to escape from. Confortola sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Robert Confortola was stalling too much, according to the referee. Confortola misses with the combination.

Confortola uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sweeney's guard. Nice move by Confortola! Confortola scoring with some ground and pound. Confortola wants to control from the top but Sweeney keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Confortola stands up from guard. That was a close round but I would say that Dorian Sweeney will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sweeney accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Sweeney might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sweeney with a flurry of punches that miss. Confortola working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sweeney. Sweeney throwing strikes but missing. Sweeney has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Confortola utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sweeney is fighting to break Confortola's control of his arms but Confortola is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Confortola wants to stand and escape but Sweeney is having none of it. Sweeney working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sweeney closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Sweeney throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Confortola counters with a three punch combo that has Sweeney backing up. Sweeney nods at Confortola to acknowledge the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sweeney displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Confortola. Sweeney drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Confortola wants to stand but Sweeney is controlling the position.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Sweeney throws a big right hand that misses. Sweeney with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Confortola looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sweeney is one step ahead there. Confortola is trying to keep Sweeney in close.

Robert Confortola has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dorian Sweeney is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Confortola buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
