Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Oswald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Larson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Oswald! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Larson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Larson shoots for a double leg takedown but Oswald sprawls well. He's pushed Larson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Oswald has closed the distance and engaged Larson in a clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Oswald.
Still in the clinch, Oswald scores with a nice short uppercut. Oswald manages to break the clinch.
Oswald takes the fight into the clinch. Oswald pushes Larson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Oswald lands with a left to the head. Oswald breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Larson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oswald tries to avoid it but Larson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oswald to the ground. Oswald escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Oswald tries to clinch up but Larson circles away and keeps his distance. Oswald wants to clinch up but Larson keeps it at a distance. Oswald stuffs the takedown attempt from Larson. Larson gets slowly back to his feet. Mark Oswald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Larson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oswald rushes Larson and presses him up against the cage. Oswald pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Larson closes the distance and clinches up with Oswald, looking for a takedown. Larson pushes Oswald against the cage but Oswald circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Larson shoots in and drives through. Oswald sprawls well. Oswald tries to clinch but Larson is having none of it. Oswald tries to clinch but Larson moves out of range. Larson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Oswald looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Oswald doesn't manage to clinch there - Larson circles away.
Oswald is looking to clinch. Horrible takedown by Larson or perhaps it was just good defense by Oswald which made him look bad. Oswald keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Larson tries to move into range but Oswald moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Oswald doesn't manage to clinch there - Larson circles away.

Nice takedown defense from Oswald. No joy for Larson on that attempt. A nice leg kick lands there from Oswald. Oswald gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Oswald manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Oswald lands an overhand right. Oswald scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mark Oswald is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Oswald scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Oswald fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Larson, pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oswald tries to clinch up but Larson circles away and keeps his distance. Oswald lands with an overhand left. Oswald clinches up with Larson and pushes him back against the cage. Larson decides to pull guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larson trying to keep a closed guard but Oswald is proving a slippery customer.
Oswald wanted to stand there but Larson had control of the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oswald preventing the sweep. Larson managing to control the position. Larson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larson has a closed guard, preventing Oswald from standing up. Oswald won't allow Larson to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Larson is trying to keep Oswald in close.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Oswald tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A combination from Oswald does no damage. Oswald looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Oswald lands a nice shot to the body.
Oswald keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mark Oswald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oswald lands with a nice combination. Larson backs away looking to recover. Horrible takedown by Larson or perhaps it was just good defense by Oswald which made him look bad. Oswald tries to bum rush Larson with a series of wild strikes but Larson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oswald throws a series of strikes that have Larson backpedaling.
Larson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Oswald swivels and escapes. Mark Oswald has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Larson. Oswald has Larson up against the cage in a clinch.
Oswald breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Oswald tries to close the distance and clinch but Larson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Larson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Oswald looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Oswald pushes Larson off looking to stand but Larson dives back in and keeps control.
Larson wants to pass to mount but Oswald is defending the position. Oswald really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Larson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Oswald. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Oswald, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
