Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dorian Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Javier Marcao! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellis forces Marcao back against the cage and clinches. Marcao gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ellis.
Ellis takes a knee to the side of the body. Ellis has hold of one of Marcao's legs. Marcao is fighting the takedown attempt but Ellis gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ellis being controlled here momentarily. Ellis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Marcao looking to control but Ellis passes into half guard.

Marcao wants to sweep here but Ellis controlling him for the moment. Marcao working a defensive guard but Ellis passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marcao tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Ellis manages to move to mount!
Marcao tries to hold on but Ellis postures up. Marcao can't escape the position.
Marcao keeps trying to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marcao taking shots to the head. Marcao wants to hold on but Ellis pushes him away. Marcao regains half guard. Marcao is trying to get back to full guard. Marcao has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ellis is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marcao wants to get back to his feet. Marcao looking for submissions off his back. Marcao is doing well to control the position and prevent Ellis from advancing to side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Javier Marcao dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Marcao connects with a solid leg kick. Ellis throws a jab but it's blocked by Marcao. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Marcao.
Ellis gets caught napping as Marcao dives in and scores a takedown. Ellis manages to retain guard. Ellis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Marcao passes into half guard.
Marcao is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ellis has managed to free his arm - good work. Ellis is not content to let Marcao control the position. Marcao is looking for a kimura but Ellis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marcao to get the leverage.

Marcao passes to full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marcao has control of Ellis's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ellis regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marcao tries to control but Ellis wriggling away. Ellis defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Marcao. Marcao can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ellis is looking to escape. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marcao lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Marcao working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Marcao looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Ellis keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Ellis is in trouble now - Marcao has advanced to mount! Marcao looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Marcao locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Ellis is forced to tap!
