Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lex Layser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geghard Karekin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Lex Layser has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lex Layser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Geghard Karekin!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Layser tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Layser swinging wildly here.
Karekin ducks under a wild hook from Layser.
Layser lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Layser closes the distance and clinches.
Layser just leaning against Karekin, taking a breather.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Layser.
Layser is pushing Karekin up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Karekin is working for takedown but Layser is calmly controlling the position for now.
Layser manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Layser lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Layser for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Layser lands with a short shot to the head.
Layser's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Lex Layser.
Layser lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Karekin circles away quickly and effectively.
The fight stays on the outside here - Layser looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A lazy left from Layser finds it's target.
Layser throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Karekin.
Layser is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Karekin.

Layser dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Karekin. That did some damage!

Layser lunges at Karekin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Karekin's hand.
Layser looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Karekin ducks under a wild hook from Layser.
Layser tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Karekin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Layser scores with a jab. Karekin acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Layser lands with a nice combination. Karekin backs away looking to recover.
Layser lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Layser fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Karekin avoids it really well and circles away.
Layser tries to score a power double leg takedown but Karekin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Layser somewhat.
Layser rushes Karekin and presses him up against the cage.
Karekin has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Layser seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Karekin can turn it around.
Layser lands a shoulder strike.

Karekin is trying to drag Layser to the mat but Layser just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Karekin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Karekin manages to end up in side control.
Layser throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Layser sneaks back into half guard.
Layser wants to improve his position but Karekin is controlling well.
Layser wants to control but Karekin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Karekin working over Layser with some ground and pound. Layser looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Karekin is trying to work for a kimura but Layser is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karekin is looking to take a break and control but Layser is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Layser makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Layser.
Layser pulls Karekin in to control the position.
Karekin stays in close to Layser's body and controls the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Layser is trying to keep Karekin in close.
Layser has momentary wrist control but Karekin slips an elbow through the middle.
Karekin wants to control from the top but Layser keeps moving.
Karekin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Geghard Karekin wasn't active enough on the ground.

Layser works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Layser wants to work for an arm triangle but Karekin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Karekin is looking to improve his position.
Layser working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Karekin's thigh. Karekin counters though and makes it back to full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Layser looks to land a combination but Karekin avoids it well.
Layser drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Layser misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Karekin explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Layser fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Layser lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Karekin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Karekin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Horrible takedown by Layser or perhaps it was just good defense by Karekin which made him look bad.

Karekin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Layser to score with a decent uppercut.
Karekin drops his hands momentarily and Layser takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Layser's jab looks to have found its range, popping Karekin under the eye.

Layser swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Karekin.

Layser throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Karekin's waist but Karekin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Layser off to one side.
