Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Strong Belwas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kesigan Lawler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Strong Belwas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kesigan Lawler!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

so Belwas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lawler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Belwas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Belwas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lawler is on top in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lawler takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Kesigan Lawler has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lawler.

Lawler has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Belwas.
Lawler fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Strong Belwas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kesigan Lawler.
Lawler leaves Belwas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lawler dives in for a single leg takedown but Belwas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Strong Belwas will probably get the nod.

Belwas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Lawler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Belwas's guard.

Strong Belwas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Belwas postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lawler looks a forlorn figure.
