Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Big J Smiles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Staunton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smiles might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Smile Like You Mean It. Steve Staunton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smiles doesn't manage to clinch there - Staunton circles away.
Staunton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Smiles wants to stand up but Staunton is controlling him.
Staunton postures up in Smiles's guard and throws a big left but Smiles blocks it.
Staunton stands up over Smiles, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Staunton works over Smiles with some ground and pound from guard.
Staunton scoring with punches to the head and body.
Staunton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Staunton cracks Smiles with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Staunton immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Smiles is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Staunton!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Staunton!
