Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Dempsey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiyoshi Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumoto has chosen Carl Douglas - Kung fu fighting as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

34 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kiyoshi Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey thows a leg kick but Matsumoto checks it
letting Matsumoto counter with a right hand.
Dempsey swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Matsumoto moves out of range of the leg kick from Dempsey.
That kick from Dempsey tenderised Matsumoto's leg. Matsumoto is trying to keep his angry face on.
Dempsey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Dempsey takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dempsey throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Matsumoto counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dempsey uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Matsumoto.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
