The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Crowell.
Crowell working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Crowell scores with a couple of short elbows.
Crowell grinds an elbow into Mercado's temple.
Mercado is trying to buck Crowell off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mercado wants to get back to his feet.

Mercado gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Mercado is in a horrible position here. Crowell smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mercado is rocked!
Crowell lands a big shot to the head and Mercado winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
