Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Demetrious Johnson Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Avery McCurnin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Avery McCurnin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Demetrious Johnson Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Avery McCurnin! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCurnin tried to score with a low kick but Johnson Jr checks it. McCurnin doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson Jr circles away.
McCurnin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. McCurnin forces Johnson Jr back against the cage and clinches. Johnson Jr is trying to break the clinch but McCurnin is controlling him. McCurnin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. McCurnin lands a jab to the head.
McCurnin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson Jr. McCurnin lands a jab to the head.
Johnson Jr tries to clinch up enabling McCurnin to counter with a crisp jab. McCurnin misses with a body kick. Johnson Jr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McCurnin pinned against the cage. McCurnin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McCurnin pushes Johnson Jr up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCurnin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McCurnin lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. McCurnin moves into range and clinches up with Johnson Jr. McCurnin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson Jr will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

McCurnin lands with a nice body punch. Johnson Jr wants to clinch. Johnson Jr circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCurnin gets a clinch. McCurnin is trying to pull guard but Johnson Jr turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Johnson Jr jumps guard but McCurnin stands there with Johnson Jr around his waist. Johnson Jr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McCurnin throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Johnson Jrs head. McCurnin lands with a right to the head. McCurnin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson Jr tries to clinch but McCurnin moves out of range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McCurnin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demetrious Johnson Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him. McCurnin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Johnson Jr. McCurnin ducks down and throws a hook to the body. McCurnin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Johnson Jr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McCurnin's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Johnson Jr controls from within his opponent's guard. Johnson Jr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and McCurnin dives on top into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCurnin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johnson Jr not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johnson Jr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McCurnin manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McCurnin trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson Jr is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Demetrious Johnson Jr. McCurnin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson Jr stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Johnson Jr takes a shot right to the bread basket. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. McCurnin clinches up with Johnson Jr and pushes him back against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McCurnin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McCurnin's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and McCurnin duly obliges. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Avery McCurnin dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
McCurnin ducks down and throws a hook to the body. McCurnin wants to clinch. McCurnin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McCurnin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Johnson Jr is rocked! Johnson Jr drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Oh Johnson Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Johnson Jr leaves his chin hanging out and McCurnin seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Johnson Jr crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Avery McCurnin!
