Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Howlett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Howlett comes into the arena with Time of Dying by Three Days Grace blaring out of the sound system. Travis Green has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Howlett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Travis Green! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Green shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Howlett defends it nicely. Howlett lands a really nice looking cross but Green seems unphased.
Green with a poor takedown and Green takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Nice combo by Howlett! Oh, that's hurt him - Green falls to the canvas and Howlett follows him into side control.
It looks like Travis Green has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Green tries to improve position but can't. Howlett is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Green has escaped the position, nice work there. Howlett stands up and we're back to a striking position. Howlett has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Howlett fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Howlett scores with a punch to the head. Howlett misses with a wild combination.
Howlett checks the leg kick. Green is looking to chop away at Howlett's legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Howlett pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Green shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Howlett defends it nicely. James Howlett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Travis Green. Howlett checks a low kick from Green. Howlett connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Howlett enables Green to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Howlett manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Howlett has Green pulled in close to control his posture. Howlett controls Green momentarily but Green frees himself. Green is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Howlett is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Howlett has escaped and now he's on top! Howlett trying to control but Green is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Howlett advances to half guard. Howlett wants to stand up but Green has a hold of him and won't allow it. Howlett lands with a punch from half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Howlett stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Green to get to his feet. Green with a lazy takedown attempt and Howlett counters with a straight right hand. Travis Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Green looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Howlett is fending him off so far but Green persists. Nope, Howlett circles away and we're back to standing. Howlett scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Green fails with a takedown attempt. Green gets cracked there but stands up to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Green fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Howlett darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Howlett scores with a sloppy right hand. Green should have avoided that one.
Green is rocked! Howlett throws out a loose jab but Green uses good head movement to avoid it. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Howlett, as that shot connected.
Green is still on wobbly legs! Can Howlett finish him? Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Howlett moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Green! Howlett continues to tee off on Green, landing with a left and a right! Howlett connects with a right hand that leaves Green sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Howlett!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Howlett! James Howlett decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
