Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brendon Aberdeen! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Jackson throws a leg kick that is checked and Aberdeen counters with a takedown into side control. Aberdeen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jackson has escaped the position, nice work there. Jackson tries to improve position but can't. Aberdeen trying to control the action but Jackson is working from the bottom. Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aberdeen on the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Aberdeen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jackson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Aberdeen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Aberdeen looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Jackson is avoiding damage well.
Aberdeen tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Jackson is looking to regain half guard here but Aberdeen keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Jackson is trying to control Aberdeen's posture but Aberdeen avoids it. Aberdeen has hold of Jackson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Jackson seems comfortable defending it but Aberdeen has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Jackson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Jackson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Aberdeen couldn't care less - he's delighted!
