Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicol Bolas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Watson!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson takes one on the button.

Watson tries to keep at a distance but Bolas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Watson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bolas walks away with a smile on his face. Watson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Watson has his takedown stuffed
and Bolas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Good work by Bolas as he checks the leg kick.
Watson tries for a takedown but Bolas circles away easily
and Bolas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Nicol Bolas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Watson.
Watson looks winded!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bolas pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Bolas closes the distance and clinches.
Bolas is struggling to control the position.

Bolas manages to break the clinch.
Bolas fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Bolas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Watson trying to keep a closed guard but Bolas is proving a slippery customer.
Bolas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bolas engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bolas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watson on the ground.
We've been hearing that Bolas has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nicol Bolas.
Bolas dances in with a quick combination. Watson is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Bolas snaps Watson's head back. Watson stumbles backwards against the cage. Bolas steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Watson's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Watson just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nicol Bolas!
An out of breath Nicol Bolas thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
