The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sanford is fending him off so far but Cooley persists. Nope, Sanford circles away and we're back to standing.

Cooley moves into range and clinches up with Sanford.

Cooley pulls Sanford in close to prevent any damage.

Sanford has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Cooley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sanford's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cooley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanford manages to get himself to full guard.

Cooley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanford, pushing him back against the cage.

Sanford ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sanford no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Cooley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Cooley is pushing down on Sanford's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sanford is fighting to maintain full guard but Cooley has managed to sneak the leg through.
Sanford is looking to control Cooley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sanford avoid being mounted?

Cooley closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well Cooley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
