Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darnell Mcgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Zyb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Zyb!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgowan misses with a takedown
and Zyb counters with a leg kick.
A head kick by Zyb misses
and Mcgowan counters with a head kick. That will keep Zyb thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Mcgowan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zyb's waist but Zyb gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcgowan off to one side.
Zyb misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mcgowan moves away from the strike by Zyb.
Mcgowan connects with a high kick.

Zyb shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mcgowan trying to hold on to Zyb's head to control him but Zyb postures up.
Zyb is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zyb tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mcgowan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Mcgowan tries to roll over but Zyb keeps him under control.
Zyb perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chris Zyb wasn't active enough on the ground.
Mcgowan blocks a head kick by Zyb.

Zyb throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcgowan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zyb is in Mcgowan's guard.
Zyb is pushing down on Mcgowan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mcgowan is fighting to maintain full guard but Zyb has managed to sneak the leg through.
Zyb has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mcgowan tries to hold on but Zyb pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zyb trying to control but Mcgowan is having none of it.

Zyb is working for a guillotine from mount but Mcgowan frees his head quite easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Zyb jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mcgowan manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Zyb throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Mcgowan stops Zyb from passing to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zyb throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mcgowan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Zyb is looking to take a break and control but Mcgowan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zyb looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Zyb is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Zyb works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mcgowan is squirming around, avoiding Zyb's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mcgowan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Zyb goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mcgowan is on top in guard.
Mcgowan tries to stand but Zyb is controlling from the bottom.
Mcgowan is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zyb wants to stand up but Mcgowan is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Zyb dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

No luck for Zyb with that takedown attempt.
Darnell Mcgowan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Zyb lands a big head kick that sends Mcgowan tumbling to the mat! Zyb takes a step backwards and waves Mcgowan back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Mcgowan is rocked!

It looks like Darnell Mcgowan has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mcgowan takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Oh Mcgowan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mcgowan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zyb pinned against the cage. Zyb gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Zyb throws a front kick that sends Mcgowan stumbling back into the cage.
Mcgowan gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
