Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Owen Orwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Stubb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orwell comes to the cage accompanied by Nuclear. Stubb has chosen Paper Scratcher as his entrance music. Michael Stubb looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Owen Orwell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Stubb! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stubb shoots in for a double leg but Orwell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Orwell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stubb paws at him with a jab and circles away. Orwell pushes Stubb up against the cage in a clinch. Orwell scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Michael Stubb has been cut. Orwell dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Orwell working Stubb over with knees to the body. Stubb looks winded! Orwell is stalling here.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Orwell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stubb has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Orwell connects with a knee to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round. Orwell is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Orwell misses with a knee to the head. Still in the clinch, Orwell scores with a nice short uppercut. Orwell creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Stubb's defenses. Orwell stalling.
Stubb is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Orwell manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Orwell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Orwell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Orwell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Orwell using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Stubb has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Stubb is rocked! Orwell with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Stubb is still on wobbly legs! Can Orwell finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Orwell jerks Stubb's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Stubb drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Orwell goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Orwell because Stubb was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
