And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cho Ming!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez misses with a hook to the body

and Ming counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ming.
We've been hearing reports that Perez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Ming lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Perez lands a hook to the side of the head.
Perez works on Ming's body with a couple of short punches.
Perez is trying to break free.
Ming drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Perez misses with an uppercut. Ming saw that one coming.
Perez throws a jab but it's blocked by Ming.
Ming gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Perez tries to land a front kick but Ming steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ming takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Perez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Perez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Perez looks to land a combination but Ming avoids it well.
Ming uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Perez.

Ming misses with a takedown attempt
and Perez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ming shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Perez defends it nicely.
Ming shoots in but Perez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Ming drops his hands momentarily and Perez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Ming is looking to clinch.
Ming takes one on the button.

Ming has Perez up against the cage in a clinch.
Perez lands with a left to the head.
Ming blocks a body shot from Perez.

Ming has Perez pressed against the cage, preventing Perez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Ming escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Perez scores with a jab. Ming acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Ming fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perez manages to avoid it.
Perez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ming.

and Perez counters with a straight right hand.
Ming missing with a left hand there. Perez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Perez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ming circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Perez is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ming checks a leg kick.
Perez avoids the body shot from Ming.

Perez clobbers Ming with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Perez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Ming dives in and grabs Perez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Perez pushes down on Ming's head and hops out.

Ming has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Perez finds it's way round the side to connect with Ming's head.
Ming moves away from the strike by Perez.

Cho Ming is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Oooooh!!! Perez has knocked Ming down with a huge combo! Perez steps away and waves a wobbly Ming back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Ming is still on wobbly legs! Can Perez finish him?
Ming walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Perez swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
