Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Warren Peace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Guss Steel!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peace decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Peace is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Steel as he works his way to full guard.
Steel has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Peace trying to control the position from guard on top but Steel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Peace accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Peace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Steel has control of Peace's left arm, preventing Peace from doing any damage.
Peace wants to control from the top but Steel keeps moving.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Steel can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Warren Peace.

Peace closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Steel did well to prevent Peace getting side control.

Steel stands and throws Peace's legs to the side, diving into side control.
You can see the frustration on Peace's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Peace tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Steel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Peace is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Steel off and has taken his back!

Steel turns into Peace and is now in his guard.

Peace is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Steel is aware though and is defending well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peace is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peace is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Warren Peace showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peace, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
