Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Genki Sodo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Negro Casas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Genki Sodo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Genki Sodo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Negro Casas! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Sodo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sodo slips a jab from Casas. Sodo looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Sodo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Casas looking to control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Casas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Casas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Casas throws a low kick, looking for Sodo's leg but Sodo calmly moves out of range. Sodo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Casas is trying to control but can't.
Casas looks gassed! Casas is looking to escape. Sodo slows the pace down in half guard. Sodo works his way into side control. Casas tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sodo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sodo scoring with strikes but Casas is staying in there. Casas regains half guard. Sodo gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Both fighters circling a little - Sodo finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Sodo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Casas as he avoids it easily. A combination from Casas does no damage. Casas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Casas seems to be working for a kimura but Sodo defends the submission attempt. Sodo is trying to control but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sodo regains full guard. Nicely done. Sodo keeping moving, preventing Casas from controlling successfully. Casas scoring with some ground and pound. Sodo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sodo postures up and lands a big shot to Casas's brow. Sodo slips nicely into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sodo in particular looking to stall.

Casas is staying active underneath Sodo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Casas is trying to get back to full guard. Sodo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Sodo wants to pass the guard but Casas is defending well. Casas wants to control but Sodo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sodo missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sodo misses with a takedown and Casas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sodo! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Genki Sodo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sodo keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Sodo tries to hold on but Casas pushes him away. Poor strikes thrown by Casas there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Sodo is looking to improve his position but Casas isn't that keen on the idea. Sodo tries to control Casas's body but Casas pushes him off. Sodo squirms to his side and now Casas has his back!
That's six minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Even with his hooks in, Casas manages to miss with strikes from the back. Sodo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Casas's guard. Nice work there by Sodo.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sodo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Casas! Casas working to try and regain half guard.

Sodo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sodo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Casas trying to control but Sodo postures up.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Casas wants to improve his position but Sodo is controlling well.

Sodo won't allow Casas to sweep him here. Casas tries to strike from the bottom.

He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Sodo has his hands clasped together but Casas extends an breaks Sodo's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Casas.
