Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Haskens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Rampage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis Rampage has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ed Haskens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis Rampage!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Topper Green and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haskens tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rampage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Rampage doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Haskens counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rampage's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Haskens throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rampage works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rampage can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rampage wants to stand but Haskens is controlling the position.
Haskens throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haskens trying to control the position from guard on top but Rampage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rampage gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Rampage drives through with a takedown into Haskens's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Rampage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haskens swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Haskens is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rampage with a poor takedown

and Haskens decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rampage's guard.

Haskens has gone for a leg lock! Rampage slips out almost immediately though and dives into Haskens's guard.

We've been informed that Rampage has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Haskens engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Haskens wants to control from the top but Rampage keeps moving.
Haskens is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Rampage is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Haskens shoots for a double leg takedown but Rampage sprawls well. He's pushed Haskens's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Haskens throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rampage was covering up waiting for the punch and Haskens finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Haskens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ed Haskens overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Rampage turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rampage manages to end up in side control.

Rampage is bucking up trying to escape but Haskens cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Haskens lands a big elbow.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Haskens, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
