The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams circles away from the clinch attempt
and Adams counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Patterson's guard now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Adams looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Patterson has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Adams has passed into side control.
Adams is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Patterson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Patterson is not content to let Adams control the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
