Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Parsons has chosen Rev Theory - Dead in a Grave as his entrance music. Tim Johnson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Parsons! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson shoots in and drives through. Parsons sprawls well. Parsons gets a clinch. Johnson misses with a hook from the clinch. Parsons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Parsons fails with the takedown. Parsons tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Parsons has taken the fight into the clinch. Johnson is looking to control Parsons's arms but Parsons gets an underhook and turns him. Now Johnson has his back to the cage. Come on Parsons - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Parsons has him pressed against the cage. Johnson blocks a body shot from Parsons. Johnson jumps guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Johnson is trying to control the position but Parsons postures up. Parsons throws a big right hand that misses. Parsons throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Parsons from controlling successfully. Parsons throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Parsons is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him. Johnson throws a strike but Parsons rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Parsons really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jack Parsons wasn't active enough on the ground. Parsons throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease. Parsons doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Parsons moves into range and clinches up with Johnson. Johnson misses with a hook from the clinch. Parsons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt letting Johnson counter with a right hand. Johnson lands a nice looking body shot.

Parsons closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away. Parsons slips under a jab from Johnson. Parsons tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Parsons. Johnson swinging wildly here.
Jack Parsons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Parsons. Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Parsons thows a body shot but no joy. Parsons tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. Parsons uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson. Parsons tries to clinch but Johnson moves away and Johnson counters with a straight right hand. Parsons shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side. Parsons has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Tim Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Parsons. A slapping leg kick lands for Johnson.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Parsons moves into range and clinches up with Johnson. This has been an exciting period of action! Parsons breaks the clinch.
Johnson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Parsons's sensitive parts. Johnson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jack Parsons will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnson darts in looking for a takedown but Parsons gets double underhooks and turns Johnson into the cage. Parsons lands a body punch. A frustrated look appears on Johnson's face as he tries to break the clinch. Parsons works on Johnson's body with a couple of short punches. Parsons lands a body punch. Johnson tries to score a body lock takedown but Parsons shows good agility there to stay on his feet. A right hook to the body lands for Parsons.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson is trying to pull guard but Parsons turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parsons leaning against his opponent.
A left hand lands to the body for Parsons.
Parsons breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A momentary lapse in concentration from Johnson enables Parsons to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Johnson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Parsons missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Parsons advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Parsons thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Parsons takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parsons throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Johnson has hold of Parsons's hands but Parsons slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Parsons passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Johnson! Parsons dominating with strikes here. Parsons landing strikes from the mount. Parsons trying to control but he's not successful this time. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Parsons in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
It looks like Tim Johnson has been cut. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Parsons cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Parsons lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Johnson is rocked! Parsons lands a big elbow - Johnson is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Johnson is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Jack Parsons! In his post fight interview, Jack Parsons started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
