30 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Johnson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karl Socha! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Socha ducks under a wild hook from Johnson. Johnson looks for the body kick but Socha saw that one coming. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johnson. Socha misses with a looping left. Johnson moves out of range of the body kick. Socha wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance. Johnson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Johnson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Johnson misses with a body shot.
Johnson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Johnson is looking to land body kicks. Socha throws a push kick but Johnson slaps the foot to one side. Socha uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johnson. Socha takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Socha fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Socha uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Johnson. Johnson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Socha napping and manages to drive through into side control! If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Socha parries the strikes from Johnson easily there. Johnson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Socha to escape.

Socha must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Johnson trying to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Karl Socha hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Johnson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Johnson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Johnson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Johnson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Johnson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Socha takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Luke Johnson will probably get the nod. That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson misses with a wild body shot. A momentary lapse in concentration from Socha enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Socha manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
