Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roy Mustang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaspars Daugavins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mustang might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Little Rock. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
37 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roy Mustang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kaspars Daugavins! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daugavins throws an overhand right that lands on Mustang's shoulder, as Mustang tries to avoid the shot. Mustang works over Daugavins's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Kaspars Daugavins has been cut. Daugavins misses with a few strikes there.
Mustang throws a series of punches but Daugavins avoids them all with ease. Mustang scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mustang has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mustang goes for a takedown attempt but Daugavins pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Mustang slips a jab from Daugavins. Mustang misses with a takedown attempt and Daugavins cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Daugavins throws a jab when Mustang was well out of range. This has been an exciting period of action! Mustang misses with a few strikes there.
Good standup being displayed there by Mustang as he connects with a hook. Mustang blocks a jab. Mustang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Daugavins. Mustang clinches up with Daugavins and pushes him back against the cage. Daugavins has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mustang after a bit of a struggle. Our sources have told us that Mustang has been working on his elbows in the gym.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daugavins pulls guard effortlessly. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Daugavins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mustang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mustang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mustang trying to control the position from guard on top but Daugavins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mustang trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mustang throwing strikes but missing. Daugavins throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mustang wants to control from the top but Daugavins keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mustang is really struggling to control Daugavins but he's trying to hold on to the position. Daugavins told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Roy Mustang wasn't doing enough on the ground. Mustang moves into the clinch. Mustang is trying to pull guard but Daugavins has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Mustang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daugavins softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Daugavins wants a takedown.
Daugavins stalling in the clinch but Mustang improves position. Daugavins swings wildly with an uppercut but Mustang uses good head movement to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mustang tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A shot in the inside from Daugavins. Mustang prevents the takedown attempt.
Daugavins is trying to pull guard but Mustang turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Daugavins lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Daugavins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mustang uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Daugavins. Mustang bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Daugavins's head backwards. Daugavins moves out of range of the body kick from Mustang.
Daugavins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mustang is fending him off so far but Daugavins persists. Nope, Mustang circles away and we're back to standing. Mustang gets a clinch. Daugavins successfully pulls guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daugavins is trying to keep Mustang in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mustang tries to free his leg and advance position but Daugavins is retaining full guard. Mustang stays in close to Daugavins's body and controls the position. Mustang's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mustang lands a nice hook to Daugavins's body. Daugavins takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Daugavins shoots in looking for a takedown. Mustang tries to sprawl out of it but Daugavins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mustang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Daugavins misses with a looping left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Mustang dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kaspars Daugavins's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Left hook, right uppercut from Mustang. Nice sprawl there from Daugavins as Mustang shoots in. Donk. Daugavins catches Mustang right on the button with a cross. Daugavins throws a shot from downtown. Mustang moves away and avoids it. Daugavins missing with a left hand there. Mustang was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Mustang takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Mustang ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Mustang misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mustang closes the distance and clinches. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Mustang as Daugavins tries to tie him up. A short right from Daugavins. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Daugavins misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mustang is trying to pull guard but Daugavins turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Daugavins jumps guard and drags Mustang to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Mustang trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Daugavins is trying to control the position but Mustang postures up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mustang accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Daugavins tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mustang trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mustang trying to control the position from guard on top but Daugavins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mustang looking to pass the guard. Mustang slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mustang won't allow Daugavins to sweep him here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Daugavins lands with an overhand left. Daugavins might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Daugavins takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Daugavins throws a hook to the side of Mustang's head but Mustang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Roy Mustang is winning the standup battle so far. Mustang closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Daugavins looking to stall.
This has been an exciting period of action! Daugavins drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Mustang gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Daugavins wants to get back to striking at distance but Mustang won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Daugavins scores with a shoulder strike. Mustang blocking some punches.
Daugavins is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mustang to keep the fight standing. Daugavins is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Mustang jumps guard and drags Daugavins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mustang slips out almost immediately though and dives into Daugavins's guard. Daugavins keeping moving, preventing Mustang from controlling successfully. Mustang is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mustang trying to control the position from guard on top but Daugavins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Mustang passes easily into side control. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Roy Mustang will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Kaspars Daugavins's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Daugavins throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mustang clinches with his opponent.
A head punch on the inside from Daugavins fails to land. Daugavins tries to score a body lock takedown but Mustang shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Daugavins has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mustang after a bit of a struggle. Daugavins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mustang walks away with a smile on his face. Daugavins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Roy Mustang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaspars Daugavins. Mustang closes the distance and lands a one-two. Mustang lands with a cross. Daugavins looks to land a left hand but Mustang moved out of range nicely. Mustang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mustang lands in his opponent's guard. Mustang trying to control the position from guard on top but Daugavins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daugavins looking for a guillotine here but Mustang defends easily.
Daugavins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mustang passes Daugavins's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Mustang frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Mustang throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mustang is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Daugavins has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Daugavins is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mustang is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Daugavins is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roy Mustang! As Roy Mustang got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Woohoo it's nice to be the champion again! I bear booker before and I knew I could again. It's nice to be the best in the world again!'.
