Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerrell Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Link Jones!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Jones throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jones trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Young is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control.
Young would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Young really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Young is proving a slippery customer.
Young stopping the sweep attempt from Jones.
Young is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Young working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Young has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Young slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jerrell Young has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Young swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones scores with a takedown into Young's guard.
Young controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
We're going to have a standup here because Jerrell Young wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Young tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Jones counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Young has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
