The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russell takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Man throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Russell moves into range and clinches up with Man.
Man tries to work over Russell's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Russell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Man fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Russell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Man swivels and escapes.
Man lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Man looks to land a combination but Russell avoids it well.
Man scores with a leg kick.
Man lands with a slapping head kick.

Russell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Man looks like he's trying to stand up.

Russell thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Man's head.

Man tries to kick Russell off but Russell keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Russell lands a nice short elbow.

Man feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Russells jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Russell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Man avoids it really well and circles away.
Russell throws a right hand that Man ducks under and follows up with a left that Man also avoids with ease.
Man tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Russell was well out of range. Poor timing from Man.
Russell misses with a takedown attempt - Man sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Both fighters circling a little - Man finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Spider Man is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Man throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sloppy strikes from Man. Those never looked like landing.

Russell clinches up against the cage.
Man gets underhooks to prevent Russell's takedown attempt.
Man keeps control of Russell as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Man misses with a short punch on the inside.
Russell drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A frustrated look appears on Man's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Russell keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Man's efforts to push away.
Man is trying to force a seperation but Russell has the dominant position.
Russell has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.

Russell manages to pull guard.
Russell looking to control.
Man wants to stand but Russell is controlling his posture from full guard.
Man knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Russell on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Russell has his foot on Man's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Man works his way back into a safe position though.

That's time! Man's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

A head kick misses from Man.
Man connects with a leg kick. Russell looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Russell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Man defends it nicely.
Russell shoots in and drives through. Man sprawls well.
Russell takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Russell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Man counters with an outside leg kick.
Man swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Russell counters with a single leg into guard. Man didn't expect that.

Man seems keen to control Russell's posture.
Russell tries to free his leg and advance position but Man is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Man lands a nice leg kick that just misses Russell's sensitive parts.
Man throws a right and a left that Russell avoids nicely.
