Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dragos Podgaetschii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ron Paul will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dragos Podgaetschii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ron Paul!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Podgaetschii swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Paul counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
We've been informed that Paul has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Paul misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Podgaetschii has Paul up against the cage in a clinch.

Paul creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Podgaetschii's defenses.

We're going to have a standup here because Dragos Podgaetschii wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Paul takes one on the button.

Podgaetschii throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Paul was covering up waiting for the punch and Podgaetschii finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Podgaetschii will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Paul is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Paul uses his free foot to push down on Podgaetschii's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Podgaetschii.
