Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Buchanan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tam Zeus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zeus is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Open Road. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Buchanan! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 10 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tam Zeus! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Buchanan. Zeus lands a nice hook to Buchanan's body. Buchanan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Buchanan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zeus circles away. Buchanan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zeus. Buchanan looks to score with a jab to the body but Zeus is just out of range. Buchanan scores with a kick to the body.
Zeus tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Zeus uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Buchanan. Buchanan throws a body shot but no joy. Zeus is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Buchanan. Zeus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Buchanan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buchanan throws a chopping leg kick but Zeus manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Buchanan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Buchanan gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Zeus to score an easy takedown into full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Zeus preventing the sweep. Buchanan controls Zeus momentarily but Zeus frees himself. Buchanan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Buchanan keeping moving, preventing Zeus from controlling successfully. Buchanan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zeus stacks Buchanan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zeus! Zeus wants to control but Buchanan is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buchanan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zeus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Zeus is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Buchanan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Buchanan is trying to improve his position. Buchanan sneaks back into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Zeus trying to pass the guard but Buchanan defending well. Zeus thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zeus is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Zeus is keen to just control but Buchanan is a slippery customer. Buchanan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Zeus. Buchanan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Zeus is looking to take a break and control but Buchanan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Zeus might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Buchanan haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Zeus slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tam Zeus wasn't active enough on the ground. Zeus misses with a hook
and Buchanan counters with a big head kick but Zeus shrugs it off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jab, jab by Zeus - just one landing. Zeus checks the leg kick nicely there.
Buchanan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Zeus misses with a looping right. Buchanan is looking to chop away at Zeus's legs. Zeus misses with a wild combination.
Buchanan slips a jab and a cross from Zeus.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Buchanan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Zeus takes a kick to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Paul Buchanan will probably get the nod. That's time! Buchanan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Buchanan dives in and scores a takedown into Zeus's guard. Buchanan scoring with punches to the head and body. Zeus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Buchanan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Buchanan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Zeus is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Buchanan off and has taken his back! Zeus is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Zeus gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Zeus gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Zeus apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Buchanan looks to land a left hand but Zeus moved out of range nicely. Zeus shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Buchanan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A swing and a miss from Zeus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zeus throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Buchanan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Buchanan seems to be working for a kimura but Zeus defends the submission attempt. Buchanan prevents Zeus from improving his position. Buchanan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zeus is just riding it out for now. Buchanan eventually gives up the hold. Zeus has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Zeus is pressing down on Buchanan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zeus has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Buchanan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Zeus working a defensive guard here.

Zeus is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. A punch lands to the side of Buchanan 's head but he takes it in his stride. Zeus smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Zeus lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Zeus misses with an uppercut. Buchanan saw that one coming. Zeus misses with a looping left. Zeus connects with the punch. Buchanan connects with a right hand. Zeus shakes it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zeus throws a big shot that misses. Buchanan shoots in for a takedown but Zeus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Buchanan looks for a takedown but Zeus sprawls well. Buchanan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Buchanan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Buchanan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zeus. Paul Buchanan is winning the standup battle so far. Buchanan throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. A momentary lapse in concentration from Buchanan enables Zeus to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Buchanan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Buchanan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Zeus trying to control but Buchanan is working from the bottom.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tam Zeus wasn't active enough on the ground. Zeus walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Zeus cracks Buchanan with a good jab. Zeus scores with a nice right hand.
A left lands for Zeus. The fighters circle momentarily. Zeus darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A telegraphed right hand from Zeus misses the target. Zeus throws a lazy right hand but Buchanan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buchanan defending well as Zeus loads up on a big left hand. Buchanan feints and as Zeus raises his hands in defense, Buchanan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zeus has his feet on Buchanan's thighs here. He's pushed Buchanan off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Buchanan screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
