Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elbrys Gora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Elbrys Gora! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Piotr Rasputin ! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rasputin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rasputin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gora cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rasputin with a poor takedown and Gora counters with a single leg into guard. Rasputin didn't expect that. Elbrys Gora has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Piotr Rasputin . Gora wants to pass the guard but Rasputin is keeping the position. Gora is working hard here to advance position. Rasputin wants to stand up but Gora is controlling him. Gora trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gora trying to control the position from guard on top but Rasputin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gora tries to free his leg and advance position but Rasputin is retaining full guard. Rasputin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gora stands and throws Rasputin 's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gora tries to advance to mount but can't. Gora tries for a kimura but Rasputin is defending well. Gora wants to control but Rasputin is keeping him busy. Gora passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Rasputin ! Gora throws some wild stikes that Rasputin manages to avoid easily.
Rasputin 's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Rasputin tries to hold on but Gora pushes him away. Gora is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rasputin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rasputin ! Rasputin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rasputin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rasputin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Rasputin throwing strikes but missing. Gora seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Gora utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gora trying to control the position.
Gora bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rasputin 's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gora trying to control but Rasputin is working from the bottom. Rasputin wants to stand up but Gora is controlling him. Rasputin wants to sweep but no luck. Rasputin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gora is pushing down on Rasputin 's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rasputin is fighting to maintain full guard but Gora has managed to sneak the leg through. Rasputin is staying active underneath Gora, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Gora is working for a kimura here but Rasputin manages to reverse the position and he's now in Gora's guard.
Rasputin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gora might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rasputin postures up.
Gora pulls Rasputin in close to his closed guard and prevents Rasputin from doing any damage or advancing position. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Rasputin working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Gora controls Rasputin momentarily but Rasputin frees himself. Rasputin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Gora looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gora pulls Rasputin in close to his closed guard and prevents Rasputin from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Elbrys Gora just wasn't active enough. Rasputin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gora avoids it really well and circles away. Rasputin gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gora counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gora keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gora just misses with a punch to the body.
Gora throws a good cross that connects.
Gora throws a hook but Rasputin avoids it easily. Gora looks to land a right hand but Rasputin moved out of range. Gora shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Gora was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rasputin is not content to let Gora control the position. Gora moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elbrys Gora dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rasputin tries for a takedown but Gora circles away easily enabling Gora to counter with a crisp jab. Rasputin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gora counters with a shoot takedown. Rasputin fights it but they end up in guard. Gora looking to sit in guard and control but Rasputin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rasputin stands up over Gora, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Gora working for a triangle but Rasputin defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gora is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rasputin is aware though and is defending well. Gora is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rasputin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gora looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Rasputin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rasputin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Gora bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rasputin 's guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Gora controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gora wants to control from the top but Rasputin keeps moving. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gora tries to free his leg and advance position but Rasputin is retaining full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Piotr Rasputin was stalling too much, according to the referee. Rasputin moves out of range of the strikes. Rasputin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gora is trying to defend but Rasputin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Rasputin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gora's head. Rasputin misses with a head shot. Gora uses the momentum to regain guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gora is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasputin has his hands on Gora's head, controlling the position. Gora wants to control from the top but Rasputin keeps moving. Rasputin wants to sweep here but Gora controlling him for the moment. Rasputin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gora pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rasputin is keeping the position for now. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gora pushing down on Rasputin 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Gora not doing much here.

Rasputin keeps trying to improve his position. Gora uses his free foot to push down on Rasputin 's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rasputin . Gora wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Rasputin is squirming around, avoiding Gora's attempts to control the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gora looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Rasputin is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elbrys Gora dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Rasputin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Rasputin has his takedown stuffed and Gora connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gora shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gora showed some decent athleticism there. Rasputin is trying to stand up here but Gora is controlling him well. Gora passes to full mount! Gora tries to control but Rasputin wriggling away. Rasputin tries to lock up and control but Gora gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gora fails to take his opponent's back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rasputin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gora wants to take his opponent's back but Rasputin doesn't allow it. Gora tries to control but Rasputin wriggling away. Gora is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rasputin has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gora mounts Rasputin ! Really nice guard pass there! Gora trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gora wants to take Rasputin 's back but he can't do it this time. Gora jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rasputin manages to avoid the submission attempt. Gora controls the position. Gora trying to control the action but Rasputin is working from the bottom. Gora is trying to get an arm triangle but Rasputin is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasputin is trying to improve his position. Gora has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Rasputin ! Gora with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Rasputin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gora controlling from the full mount. Piotr Rasputin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Elbrys Gora is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rasputin holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Gora tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Rasputin is in a horrible position here. Gora smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Gora is working for a guillotine from mount but Rasputin frees his head quite easily.
This has been an exciting period of action! Rasputin is in all sorts of trouble here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gora looking to control but Rasputin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
