The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matson throws a body punch but Wilkins moves out of range.
Wilkins connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Matson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Wilkins is out of range.
Matson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Matson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Wilkins counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Matson is doing well to control the position and prevent Wilkins from advancing to side control.

Wilkins shoots in for a takedown but Matson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Wilkins shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Matson looks to land a left hand but Wilkins moved out of range nicely.
Matson thows a body shot but no joy.
Matson throws a shot from downtown. Wilkins moves away and avoids it.

Wilkins throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Matson sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Wilkins dives in and grabs Matson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Matson pushes down on Wilkins's head and hops out.
Matson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wilkins checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Matson throws a right and a left that Wilkins avoids nicely.
Matson takes a swing at Wilkins's ribcage but misses.
Matson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Matson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Matson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Matson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Wilkins slips a jab and a cross from Matson.
Wilkins comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wilkins on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Matson. Matson obviously looking to wear him down.

and Wilkins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Matson won't be happy with that.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wilkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Matson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Josh Matson wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Wilkins counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Matson's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andy Wilkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Matson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wilkins was well out of range. Poor timing from Matson.

Matson is looking for a sweep. Wilkins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Matson is looking to control Wilkins's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Matson avoid being mounted?

Wilkins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Matson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wilkins.

Andy Wilkins is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Wilkins frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Matson is looking to improve his position but Wilkins isn't that keen on the idea.
BOOM! Wilkins connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilkins prevents Matson from getting the reversal.

Wilkins is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Matson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Matson shrugs it off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Matson is trying to escape the mount.
Wilkins wants to control but Matson has made it back to half guard. Nice work.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Josh Matson.
I think Wilkins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
