PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Boone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damain Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Damain Jones!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Boone was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Boone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boone preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Jones postures up in Boone's guard and throws a big left but Boone blocks it.
Jones trying to control but Boone is working from the bottom.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Boone is keeping the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Damain Jones wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Boone manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jones on his heels. He'll look to pass Jones's guard now, I'm sure.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jones looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Boone is defending well. Jones quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Boone has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jones celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Damain Jones was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
