Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tony Rollins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rami Kottari! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rollins closes the distance looking to clinch and Kottari counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kottari throws a big right hand that misses. Rollins working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kottari. Kottari missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rollins wants to sweep but no luck. Rollins being controlled here, momentarily. Kottari wants to pass the guard but Rollins is keeping the position. Kottari throws a big elbow that misses. Rollins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kottari on the ground. Kottari scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rollins tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kottari with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Kottari postures up in Rollins's guard and throws a big left but Rollins blocks it. Rollins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kottari controls the pace. Kottari slips nicely into half guard. Rollins is trying to stand back up but Kottari is controlling him
Kottari not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Rollins tries to roll over but Kottari keeps him under control. Kottari uses his free foot to push down on Rollins's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rollins. Rollins is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Kottari unloading with bombs!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kottari loads up with a big shot that hurts Rollins! He's pulled Kottari in close but Kottari has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Rollins survive? More strikes from Kottari and Rollins is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
