Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Charles Brock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Morgan! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brock misses with a takedown attempt - Morgan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Morgan throws a right hand that Brock ducks under and follows up with a left that Brock also avoids with ease. Morgan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Morgan leaves Brock with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Morgan throws the left hand but Brock avoids the punch easily. Brock throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Morgan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brock is in Morgan's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Brock is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coaches that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Morgan keeping moving, preventing Brock from controlling successfully. Brock drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brock jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Brock prevents Morgan from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brock is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Brock postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Morgan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brock, into his guard. Brock controls Morgan momentarily but Morgan frees himself. Morgan is posturing up here but Brock has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Morgan tries to roll out but it's too tight and Morgan has to tap! Slick submission there by Brock!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Edward Charles Brock! Edward Charles Brock opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
