Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jean Baptiste Reno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Moore! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A decent looking body kick lands there for Moore. Moore throws a head kick but Baptiste Reno moves out of range.
Moore tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Both fighters circling a little - Moore finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Baptiste Reno dives in for a single leg takedown but Moore sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Baptiste Reno is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Moore gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Baptiste Reno looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Baptiste Reno. That's going to take a lot out of him. Moore with a knee to the head.
Baptiste Reno is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Baptiste Reno is looking to take this one to the mat. Baptiste Reno is looking for a takedown. Moore's coach down at Cylon Training Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Moore's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. A knee to the head by Moore.
It looks like Jean Baptiste Reno has been cut. Knees in the clinch landing for Moore.
Baptiste Reno is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Moore lands a nice elbow. Moore trying to land knees to the body.
Moore lands with a right to the head. Moore throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Baptiste Renos head. Baptiste Reno can't get the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moore unloads a knee to the mid-section. Baptiste Reno lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Moore gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Moore crunches a lovely knee into Baptiste Reno's ribcage. Moore scores with a knee to the head.
Baptiste Reno is rocked! Moore creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Baptiste Reno! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Moore.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom Moore! An out of breath Tom Moore thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
