The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shylo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Shylo misses with a hook.
Musa looks to throw the jab but Shylo is out of range.
Shylo dives in for a single leg takedown but Musa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Musa has Shylo pressed against the cage.

Musa is trying to trip Shylo. He has hold of a leg but Shylo is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Musa persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've been hearing that Musa has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Shylo has an active guard here but Musa has managed to pass into half guard.

Musa is nestled in close to Shylo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
