Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Spishak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robin Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spishak's entrance music is Sleeping with Sirens. A fine choice. Smith has chosen Bulls On Parade - Rage Against The Machine as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Sammy Spishak has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sammy Spishak seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammy Spishak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robin Smith! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spishak fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away. Spishak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith shoots and misses and Spishak moves into the clinch. Spishak creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Smith's defenses. Spishak wants a takedown.
Smith tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Spishak just stands there and leans against the cage. Spishak gets a trip takedown into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Spishak wants to stand up but Smith is controlling the position.
Smith is trying to maintain the position but Spishak is very close to passing his half guard. Spishak is working for a kimura but Smith is defending it quite comfortably.
Smith is staying active underneath Spishak, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spishak is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Spishak. Spishak controlling the action here. Spishak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spishak is looking to stall here but Smith recovers full guard. Smith can't keep his opponent in guard - Spishak advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Spishak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Smith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Spishak is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Smith sees it coming and defends easily. Spishak seems to be working for a kimura but Smith defends the submission attempt. Smith manages to get to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spishak postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Smith wants to sweep here but Spishak controlling him for the moment. Spishak wants to stand but Smith has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Spishak stopping the sweep attempt from Smith. Spishak not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spishak looking to pass the guard. Spishak trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Spishak passes into half guard. Spishak looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Spishak is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sammy Spishak dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Spishak throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily. Spishak stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet. Smith has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Spishak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Smith lands a jab to Spishak's midsection. Robin Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spishak lands a nice hook to Smith's body. Smith takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Spishak throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Spishak misses with a looping right. Spishak throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Smith throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. A jab from Spishak does it's job there. Spishak misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smith stuns Spishak with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Sammy Spishak is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith connects with a right hand. Spishak shakes it off. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Spishak moves out of range of the body kick from Smith.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Sammy Spishak has been cut. Smith slips a jab from Spishak. Smith fails with the takedown. A chopping leg kick lands by Smith. Smith shoots and misses and Spishak moves into the clinch. Sammy Spishak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robin Smith. Spishak pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Spishak. No joy for Smith on that attempt. Spishak swinging wildly here.
Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spishak. Spishak throws a series of strikes that have Smith backpedaling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Smith slips a jab and a cross from Spishak.
A cross from Smith lands. Spishak blocks a low kick nicely. Smith lands with a nice body punch. Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spishak was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spishak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there. Spishak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Spishak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Spishak working a defensive guard here.
Spishak wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spishak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Spishak keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass. Smith trying to control but Spishak is working from the bottom. Smith looking to pass the guard. Spishak is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Smith has his hands clasped together but Spishak extends and breaks Smith's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Spishak.
