Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Fitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Fitzsimmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fitch's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, HEALTH - TEARS. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Fitch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Fitzsimmons!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzsimmons buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fitch misses with a series of wild punches.
Fitzsimmons circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fitzsimmons lands with a shot to the body.
Fitzsimmons keeps the fight on the outside.

Fitzsimmons gets tackled into the cage by Fitch. Fitch maintains the clinch.
Fitzsimmons gets through Fitch's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fitzsimmons misses with some punches.

Fitch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fitch throws a combination that misses
and Fitzsimmons counters with a straight right hand.
Fitzsimmons stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Fitzsimmons wants it to stay on the feet.
Fitzsimmons lands with a thumping leg kick.
Fitch takes one to the chin there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fitch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fitzsimmons circles away quickly and effectively.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fitch takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Fitzsimmons fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Fitzsimmons avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Fitzsimmons as Fitch shoots in.
Fitch throws a series of punches but Fitzsimmons avoids them all with ease.
Fitch misses with a combination
and Fitzsimmons counters with a good low kick that Fitch was not able to check.
Fitzsimmons has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fitch is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Fitch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fitzsimmons scores with a body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fitch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Fitch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fitzsimmons connects with a jab.


It looks like Adam Fitch has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fitzsimmons lands a big head kick that sends Fitch tumbling to the mat! Fitzsimmons takes a step backwards and waves Fitch back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Fitch is rocked!
Fitzsimmons digs a good body shot into Fitch's ribs.
Oh Fitch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fitch shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fitch seems to have got his legs back now.
Fitzsimmons throws out a powerful jab.
Fitzsimmons throws a quick inside leg kick.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Fitch. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Fitch steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Fitzsimmons. That one must have hurt.
Fitch is breathing heavily.
Fitch darts in looking for a takedown but Fitzsimmons gets double underhooks and turns Fitch into the cage.
Fitzsimmons pushes Fitch back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fitzsimmons misses with the head strike.
Fitzsimmons is pressed up against the cage. Fitch has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fitzsimmons down to the mat. Fitzsimmons avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fitzsimmons lands a big right hand that sends Fitch crashing to the mat! Fitzsimmons stays standing though and waves Fitch back to his feet!
Fitzsimmons is stalking Fitch. Fitch circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Fitzsimmons, and it's lights out! Fitch really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jim Fitzsimmons!
Jim Fitzsimmons looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Better luck next time, old chum!'.
