Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Po Panda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Cat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Panda comes into the arena with Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Po Panda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Cat! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cat connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Po Panda has been cut. Cat throws a right and a left that Panda avoids nicely. Cat misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A combination from Cat does no damage. Cat throws a right and a left that both miss. Oooooh!!! Cat has knocked Panda down with a huge combo! Cat steps away and waves a wobbly Panda back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Panda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cat misses with a shot to the body and Panda counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Cat loads up on a big right hand but Panda slips the punch. Panda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cat manages to avoid it. Panda lands with a nice combination. Cat backs away looking to recover. Panda misses with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Panda uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cat. Panda lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cat circles away quickly and effectively. Cat throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Panda shoots in for a takedown but Cat shows good takedown defense. Tom Cat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A slow jab from Cat misses its intended target. Panda pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Panda blocks a jab. Cat throws a right and a left that Panda avoids nicely. Panda fails with the takedown so Cat counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Po Panda. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cat being controlled here momentarily. Cat postures up.
Cat with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Panda keeping moving, preventing Cat from controlling successfully. Cat stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Panda swivels though and keeps the full guard. Panda wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Panda is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cat slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Panda throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cat throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Panda. Sloppy strikes from Cat. Those never looked like landing. Panda feints a jab promting Cat to slip. Panda then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cat slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Panda looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cat drops Panda with a beautiful combination! Panda stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Cat is looking for the KO! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cat throws a combination that misses and Panda counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Cat! Panda working the head with strikes. Panda scores with a couple of short elbows. Panda cracks Cat with a big right hand but Cat just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Cat is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Panda tries to advance to mount but can't. Cat is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Panda is working Cat over with some ground and pound from side control. Panda blocks the strikes from Cat.
Cat takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Cat is looking to regain half guard here but Panda keeps moving and retains side control. Cat is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Panda lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Panda grinds an elbow into Cat's temple. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Panda looks up at the clock and then as Cat takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Panda smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
A big shot lands for Panda! That's hurt Cat! Will he recover? Panda fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Po Panda! Our winner, Po Panda, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
