Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demetrius Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ziggy Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Floyd might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Make it bun dem- Skrillex ft. Damian Marley. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Demetrius Floyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ziggy Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper defending well as Floyd loads up on a big left hand.
Floyd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cooper.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Cooper lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cooper is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Cooper gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Cooper gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Cooper apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Floyd throws a series of punches but Cooper avoids them all with ease.
Nice defenses there by Floyd.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Cooper decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Floyd's guard.

Cooper looks up at the clock and then as Floyd takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cooper smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Floyd trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cooper is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Floyd fails with an attempt to clinch.
Floyd throws a body punch but Cooper moves out of range.
Cooper thuds his right hand into Floyd's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Floyd plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Some wild striking there from Floyd.
Floyd has his takedown stuffed
and Cooper counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Floyd closes the distance and clinches up with Cooper, looking for a takedown. Floyd pushes Cooper against the cage but Cooper circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Floyd wants to clinch up but Cooper keeps it at a distance.
Demetrius Floyd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Floyd takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Floyd closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cooper is looking for a sweep. Floyd is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Floyd looks to land a strike but Cooper avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Floyd is looking to work some ground and pound but Cooper has wrist control.
Cooper looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

We're going to have a standup here because Demetrius Floyd wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Cooper connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Nice uppercut lands for Cooper. That snapped Floyd's head back.
We've been told by Floyd's head coaches at Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A clash of legs there as Cooper blocks the low kick.
Floyd ducks under a wild hook from Cooper.

Floyd feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cooper controls Floyd momentarily but Floyd frees himself.

Cooper shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cooper showed some decent athleticism there.

Cooper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Floyd keeps working.

Floyd scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Cooper manages to mount him!

Floyd takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Cooper's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ziggy Cooper!
After winning the bout, Ziggy Cooper thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
