Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Strickland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Isaiah Williams! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strickland misses with a double jab.
Strickland lands with an uppercut that bounces Williams off the cage and back into range. Williams wants to clinch up but Strickland keeps it at a distance. Williams lands a big head kick that sends Strickland tumbling to the mat! Williams takes a step backwards and waves Strickland back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Luis Strickland has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Strickland stalks Williams and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Williams's face. Williams staggers backwards, shaken. Strickland takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Williams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Strickland, pushing him back against the cage. Williams struggles to land a body shot inside as Strickland controls his hands.
Strickland is pressed up against the cage. Williams has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Strickland down to the mat. Strickland avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Isaiah Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams tries to clinch but fails miserably and Strickland counters with a nice leg kick. Strickland looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Williams throws a right and a left that Strickland avoids nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Williams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Strickland circles away. Luis Strickland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isaiah Williams. Williams tries to clinch but Strickland is having none of it. Williams takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Isaiah Williams has been cut. Williams tries to close the distance and clinch but Strickland swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Williams drops his hands momentarily and Strickland takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Strickland circles away.
Strickland clinches up against the cage. Strickland looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Williams can't get the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Strickland is defending well for now. Strickland is trying to pull guard but Williams turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Williams breaks from the clinch.
Strickland is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Strickland tries to clinch up. Strickland keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Luis Strickland is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Strickland throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Williams jumps guard and drags Strickland to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Williams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Strickland is aware though and is defending well. Williams looks winded! Williams is trying to control the position but Strickland postures up. Strickland sitting in guard here, content to control. Strickland preventing the sweep. Strickland showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Strickland wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving. Strickland will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Strickland tries to pull guard but Williams forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Williams wants to break the clinch but can't.
Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Strickland avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Williams has had enough of the clinch but Strickland keeps him there for the moment. Come on Williams - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Strickland jumps guard but Williams stands there with Strickland around his waist. Strickland gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Isaiah Williams dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Strickland wants to clinch. Strickland moves into range and clinches up with Williams. Williams is trying to force a seperation but Strickland has the dominant position. Williams ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Williams no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Williams wants to sweep but no luck. Strickland slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Williams wants to stand up but Strickland is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Williams. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Strickland is stalling in the full guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Luis Strickland. Williams fails with the takedown. Isaiah Williams seems to be getting the better of the standup. Williams is breathing heavily. Strickland throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Strickland lands a right hook to the body.
Strickland gets tackled into the cage by Williams. Williams maintains the clinch.

Williams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Williams pulls guard effortlessly. Strickland sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Strickland lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Strickland scores with a jab. Williams scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Strickland is trying to buck Williams off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams tries for a kimura but Strickland is defending well. Strickland misses with an elbow from the bottom. Strickland is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Williams has just dragged him back down to the mat. Strickland has one of Williams's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Strickland wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Strickland is not content to let Williams control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Luis Strickland will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Strickland sprawls well. Strickland wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet. Strickland throws a series of strikes that have Williams backpedaling.
Strickland staying out of range there. Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Strickland but Strickland pushes him off and we're back to square one. Strickland lands the left hand. Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Williams counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Strickland is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Williams darts in looking for a takedown but Strickland gets double underhooks and turns Williams into the cage. Luis Strickland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isaiah Williams. Williams drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Strickland gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Strickland tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Williams just stands there and leans against the cage. Williams tries to break free but Strickland pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams is trying to break the clinch but Strickland is controlling him. Strickland fails to pull guard.

Strickland works over Williams's head and body with a nice combination. Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Strickland circles away.
Williams fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Strickland throws a series of punches but Williams avoids them all with ease. Strickland misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Strickland tries to clinch but Williams moves out of range. Strickland fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Luis Strickland is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Williams slips a jab and a cross from Strickland.
Strickland slaps away a takedown attempt from Williams, before circling back to the center of the mat. Williams slips a jab and a cross from Strickland.
Strickland stuffs the takedown attempt from Williams. Williams gets slowly back to his feet. Strickland throws a head kick that Williams semi-blocks.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams tries to clinch up. Strickland looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Williams swats away the attempt to clinch by Strickland. Strickland gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Williams takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Strickland throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Strickland defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Williams.
And that's the end of the fight! Luis Strickland showed his dominance in that final round. I think Strickland has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
